Sarah began her career in journalism, earning her M.S. in Journalism from Columbia University. Prior to transitioning to public relations, she worked on the producing teams for CBS on “20th Century with Mike Wallace”, the award-winning “NBC News Special Reports” and as an on-camera TV reporter for local stations in New York and California.

Sarah worked in-house for both public and private companies before moving agency side. She advised tech startups with The Blueshirt Group before joining SHIFT Communications to work with retail, food & beverage, and cybersecurity clients. Sarah founded Segal Communications with the purpose of fostering a community that sought new methods, developed new paths, and helped clients meet and exceed their communications goals. She has created a company environment that celebrates the wins, champions new ideas, and nurtures creative thinking. Sarah thrives on operational processes and is well-regarded for her drive to find creative solutions that are unique to each client. She is rarely satisfied with the expected and is always working to improve upon proven methods and strategies.

Sarah is a member of the PR Council, the San Francisco Public Relations Round Table, PRSA, the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce, the San Rafael Chamber of Commerce, and the Forbes Communication Council. A Boston native, Sarah lives in Marin, CA with her husband Ben, a creative director, two children, a Dalmation and a Treeing Walker Coonhound. Sarah is a news junkie who also immensely enjoys news satire. On her days off, she spends time with her family and dogs walking the beaches of Monterey County.

Emily is passionate about bringing clients' visions to life and implementing new strategies to showcase their products or services to the world. At Segal Communications, Emily supports media relations, projects, and campaigns for tech and B2B clients. She has quickly become the awards guru, most notably assisting a client in winning a Stevie American Business Award. Her attention to detail, ability to adapt quickly, organizational skills, and proactive mindset have been a great asset to the Segal team. Emily is from Southern California and now resides in San Francisco. Outside of the office, she enjoys active outdoor activities like hiking, paddle boarding, and biking.

Rebecca contributes to achieving exceptional outcomes for clients, from developing lasting relationships with key media to crafting the perfect press release or pitch. She brings with her a well-rounded skill set, having worked in-house for an e-commerce brand on their social media and influencer marketing team before moving agency-side to serve clients at The PR Office in London. She credits earning a master’s degree in PR and advertising for further solidifying her expertise in the field. Originally from the East Bay, Rebecca has spent the last six years living and working abroad in Australia and London. She is excited to now be back in the San Francisco Bay Area to stay. Rebecca’s organizational skills, aptitude for writing, and international experience make her an invaluable asset to the Segal team and our clients. Day to day you can find her pitching media and influencers, drafting press releases and media materials, and contributing to the development of PR plans and pitch strategies. Outside of the office, Rebecca enjoys crocheting, taking long walks while listening to podcasts, and traveling the world.

Yasmine, also known as “Yas,” supports the administrative, operational and accounting needs of Segal clients. With advanced certifications in accounting, business management and finance, Yas works on defining and further streamlining systems that guarantee internal and external deadlines are met. From contracts, to project budgets and scheduling, her work is instrumental to keeping a hybrid team in sync. She is a native of NorCal, but now resides in SoCal with her family.

Originally from Portsmouth, England, Gaia recently graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno, with an M.A. in Journalism and Media Innovation and moved to the Bay Area to live by the ocean and kickstart her career in social media and PR. Throughout college, Gaia was a D1 track and field athlete specializing in the javelin throw and also worked as a Senior Reporter for a hyperlocal media and news platform called Our Town Reno. Gaia has a broad range of multimedia skills and in the past, has produced documentaries, worked as a photographer for the largest free hot-air ballooning event in the world, and has had a variety of her journalistic work published. Outside the office, you can find Gaia on a nearby hiking trail with her husky, scuba diving in the bay, or her nose in a book.

Amelia is a committed and dependable professional willing to go the extra mile for her clients and team. Looking to leverage her background in media and influencer relations, Amelia is focused on continuing to build relationships with key media professionals to share her clients’ stories. After recently graduating from the University of Oregon (UO) with a B.S. in Public Relations, Amelia returned to San Francisco, where she grew up. Throughout college, Amelia led the PR team for Chehalem Mountains Winegrowers in Portland, Oregon, where she and her team developed the organization's brand awareness through influencer and media relations, social media strategy, events, and website design. Additionally, she participated in a global strategic communication program in study abroad in London, UK. Amelia is responsible for tracking client coverage, researching, and conducting outreach to influencers and journalists. Outside of work, Amelia enjoys playing the guitar, taking SoulCycle classes, or talking about anything Taylor Swift related.

MEDIA STRATEGIST

Stephanie Yang is a senior media relations strategist who works with Segal Communications clients to develop campaign plans that meet defined client metrics. Stephanie specializes in impactable message development that drives earned media coverage for B2B and B2C brands. Stephanie began her career in the advertising and film industry before establishing an independent consultancy that partners with established agencies like Segal. In addition to working with start-ups and nationally recognized technology brands, she is well-known for her message-driven executive speaking and media training consulting. If not immersed in the latest tech news coming out of Silicon Valley, Stephanie can be found on the main stage as a keynote or panelist, or moderator. Stephanie graduated from UCLA with a B.A. in Political Science and lives in San Francisco.
